Welcome to the latest IBIT Monthly Update!

In the last month the biggest news in the IT industry has been the announcement of Windows Phone 7. Microsoft has gone back to the drawing board and started afresh and the results look very promising. The only downside is having to wait until November to get our hands on one! If you'd like to take a look yourself visit www.windowsphone7series.com

We received some great feedback from the first newsletter and aim to continue delivering content that is useful and informative. Thank you for your support.

Also, if there is a specific topic you'd like to see covered in our hints and tips section please let us know and as always if you think someone else could benefit from this please ask them to email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Thanks

Additional Clocks in Windows

They say the advance of technology has helped make the world that little bit smaller. When you're dealing with people in different countries for business or in your personal life it pays to know what time it is right now so you don't wake them up in the middle of the night!

Windows Vista and Windows 7 have the capability to display clocks from different time zones quickly and easily.

Comptia

As part of our commitment to contributing to the IT Community. We recently become a member of Comptia.

CompTIA is the non-profit trade association advancing the global interests of information technology professionals and companies including manufacturers, distributors, resellers, and educational institutions.

Our very own Andy Parkes was recently involved in a Comptia organised reseller roundtable where IT businesses from around the country sat down and discussed current challenges and shared best practices.

The UK team of Comptia have some ambitious plans to help improve the overall standard of IT service delivery and we look forward to being a part of that.

Security - 8 second demos & Internet Explorer

Have you seen the Microsoft 8 second demos adverts on TV recently? (you can see them here if you haven't!)

Some of these adverts are intended to highlight the security features in Internet Explorer.

Internet Explorer 8 recently came top in tests to see how the major browsers protect against social engineering based threats (Phishing, for example)

You can see the complete results in this article.
